The University of Madeira (UMa) has announced that applications for its master's programs are now open and will continue until June 30, 2026. This opportunity is available for the academic year 2026/2027, with the university offering more than 650 spots distributed among 22 master's programs. This initiative is part of UMa's ongoing efforts to provide quality higher education and attract both local and international students to Madeira.
The programs cover a diverse range of fields including Biological Agriculture and Rural Development, Physical Activity and Sports, Applied Biochemistry, Educational Sciences focusing on Educational Administration and Pedagogical Innovation, Design, Interactive Media Design, Community Education and Development, Preschool Education, and Primary Education, among others. Notably, the programs also extend to specialties like Civil Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Informatics Engineering.
Applications are conducted exclusively online through the university's dedicated portal. Prospective students must possess a bachelor's degree or its legal equivalent, or hold a foreign higher education degree recognized according to the Bologna Process principles. Additionally, applicants may be considered based on their academic, scientific, or professional curriculum, as evaluated by the Master's Scientific Council.
For courses with remaining vacancies, a second application phase will be held from August 1 to August 14, 2026. This phased approach aims to ensure that all available spots are filled, thereby maximizing the educational opportunities for aspiring students.
