This stop is part of its transatlantic journey that began on April 8 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and will conclude in Barcelona on the following Wednesday. The ship is carrying a total of 2,638 people, including 1,849 passengers and 789 crew members.
After a 10-hour stopover to allow passengers to explore the scenic beauty of Madeira, the MS Osterdam is scheduled to depart for Gibraltar at 5:00 PM. The visit of such large vessels is a testament to Madeira's thriving tourism sector, which is vital to the local economy.
