Car Accident in São Roque
At around 20:00, a 71-year-old woman lost control of her car on Caminho do Olival in São Roque. The vehicle plunged into a stream from a height of several meters. Despite the severity of the accident, the woman emerged unscathed and declined hospital treatment.
Emergency services, including the Immediate Medical Intervention Response Team (EMIR) and the Funchal Firefighters, dispatched 13 personnel and four vehicles to the scene.
Crane Incident in Santa Cruz
Earlier in the day, in Santo da Serra, Santa Cruz, a 56-year-old man fell approximately 10 meters from a crane while trimming a tree. Despite being conscious, he sustained multiple injuries and was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
This incident also involved EMIR and the Santa Cruz Firefighters, highlighting the day's high demand for emergency response across the island.
Child Falls from Wall in Funchal
In another incident earlier in the week, a seven-year-old girl fell from a three-meter-high wall in the Almirante Reis Gardens. Fortunately, her injuries were minor, but she was taken to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça as a precaution.
