Scenic Hike on Madeira Island: Join the Clube de Campismo da Madeira This Saturday

This Saturday, June 6, the Clube de Campismo da Madeira invites locals and tourists alike to embark on a scenic hiking adventure, traversing some of the island's most picturesque trails. The club, known for its annual outdoor activity programs, has organized a public hike that spans approximately 13 kilometers from Maroços to Machico.

The journey will take participants through notable sites such as Fontes Vermelhas, the Levada do Caniçal (also known as Levada dos Maroços), and the Miradouro do Pico do Facho, concluding in the historic town of Machico. This hike, which is expected to last around five hours, is rated as moderately difficult, making it accessible to a wide range of hiking enthusiasts.

To participate, interested individuals must register by June 5, with the club offering several convenient registration methods including phone, SMS, WhatsApp, and email. Essential information such as full name, date of birth, and tax identification number must be provided during registration for insurance purposes. The registration fee includes transportation from Funchal to the hike's starting point and back, as well as accident insurance.

Participants are advised to wear suitable hiking attire and to prepare for changing weather conditions typical of Madeira's mountainous regions. The club emphasizes following guidance provided by the event organizers to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
