MEO to upgrade 209 mobile network stations in Madeira by September 2027

MEO is starting work on 209 mobile network stations across the Autonomous Region of Madeira, together with 727 expansions of its network. The company expects to finish in September 2027.
According to MEO, the programme will improve the quality, capacity, coverage and availability of its 4G and 5G networks in the region.
The operator announced the work during a visit by its executive committee to Madeira. MEO also signed agreements with the University of Madeira on student internships and joint training, and formally rejoined DTIM, the regional association for information technology.
According to DN Madeira, the Fundação MEO opened a room for people with complex communication difficulties at the Julgado de Paz in Funchal.
