The Santana Health Center, a crucial healthcare facility located in the northern part of Madeira Island, is currently undergoing significant renovations aimed at improving its energy efficiency. This project represents a substantial investment of €3.2 million by the Regional Government.

The renovation project, which commenced recently, is expected to be completed within 300 days. The initiative includes a comprehensive set of interventions designed to enhance the building's energy performance, efficiency, and overall usage conditions.

Key Renovation Features

  • Replacement of existing lighting systems with more efficient alternatives.
  • Installation of photovoltaic systems for self-consumption, excluding battery storage.
  • Implementation of solar thermal and heat pump systems for water heating.
  • Upgrades to the existing climate control systems.
  • Replacement of glazed openings with thermal break frames to improve insulation.
  • Application of thermal insulation solutions on roofs.
  • Minor maintenance works on existing water, sewage, electrical, and gas distribution networks, along with civil construction maintenance.

This extensive renovation is part of the Regional Government's broader efforts to modernize and sustain essential infrastructure in the Santana community.
