Ribeira Brava Students Gain Priority Access to Benfica University Residence

In a noteworthy development for students from Madeira Island, the Ribeira Brava Municipality has entered into an agreement with the Parish Council of Benfica to provide its students with priority access to the University Residence of Calhariz in Benfica, located in the Lisbon metropolitan area.
This initiative, which has been formalized recently, aims to ease the accommodation challenges faced by students from Ribeira Brava who are pursuing higher education in Lisbon. The agreement allows these students to apply for accommodation starting from this week until the 9th of August, using an online application form provided by the Ribeira Brava Municipality.
The move is part of broader efforts by the local government to support its residents in accessing educational opportunities on mainland Portugal, acknowledging the unique challenges faced by those relocating from island territories.
