In a statement by Paulo Brito, the coordinator of PPM Madeira, the party acknowledged the ongoing petition for installing fixed speed cameras on the Via Rápida (VR1). However, they argue that relying solely on fixed installations is not the most effective method for preventing accidents.
PPM emphasizes the need for deploying mobile speed cameras across various roads and enhancing oversight from authorities. According to the party, fixed radar locations are predictable and may not deter speeding effectively across the entire road network.
