The only camping park in Madeira, Porto Moniz Camping Park, reopens after extensive renovations ensuring improved safety and facilities.

The Porto Moniz Camping Park, the sole facility of its kind in Madeira, is set to reopen to the public following several months of closure. The park underwent substantial renovations aimed at enhancing structural safety and improving visitor amenities.

The renovations, costing approximately 80,000 euros, focused on critical infrastructure updates. These include the structural rehabilitation of the access bridge, which has been in place for over two decades, the refurbishment of the park's balconies, and the replacement of outdated lighting systems.

Olavo Câmara, the leader of the municipal executive, emphasized the necessity of these improvements, highlighting that they were identified as a priority early in his administration. The aim was to ensure the park's functionality and safety for at least the next four years.

The park offers a range of facilities for campers, including hot water showers, sanitary facilities, barbecue areas, and meal preparation spaces. Electricity points are available near tents upon request, enhancing convenience for visitors.

This reopening is significant for both locals and tourists, as the Porto Moniz Camping Park is a unique recreational spot in the region. It offers an opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of Madeira, with its picturesque landscapes and rich biodiversity.
