The first incident was reported in Gaula on August 14, 2026, where a cyclist was injured in a collision with a car. The individual sustained facial abrasions and was immediately taken to the hospital by the Bombeiros Sapadores de Santa Cruz.
Another accident occurred on August 13, 2026, involving a motorcyclist and a car in the Túnel Engenheiro Jaime Ornelas Camacho. The 39-year-old motorcyclist suffered abdominal pain and required hospitalization. Emergency services responded quickly to the scene.
Later that day, in a separate incident at the Nazaré roundabout, a 54-year-old man lost control of his motorcycle, resulting in a shoulder dislocation. The individual was promptly assisted by the Bombeiros Sapadores do Funchal and transported to the hospital.
Furthermore, on the same day, a 26-year-old was involved in an accident between a motorcycle and a car on Avenida Calouste Gulbenkian. The young man complained of foot pain and was also taken to a medical facility for treatment.
