The first incident occurred at approximately 2:20 AM when the Bombeiros Sapadores do Funchal were dispatched to Rua da Carreira in Funchal. A fire had broken out in a waste bin located near a chapel, prompting the response of six firefighters with a heavy vehicle to extinguish the flames.
Shortly after, at around 4:00 AM, the same fire brigade was called to another fire near Estrada Comandante Camacho de Freitas. This fire, which started in a patch of brush, quickly spread to an uninhabited annex of a house. A total of 10 firefighters and three vehicles, two of which were heavy, were deployed to control and extinguish the fire. Thanks to their swift action, the fire was contained, and no injuries were reported.

In another incident, around 6:30 AM, a tourist experienced an accident at Pico do Areeiro, one of Madeira's most popular hiking spots. The woman, preparing to embark on a trail, twisted her ankle and was subsequently assisted by the Bombeiros Voluntários Madeirenses. She was transported to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for further treatment.
