Local accommodations, known as 'Alojamento Local' (AL) in Portuguese, are popular among tourists visiting Madeira. They offer a more personalized experience compared to traditional hotels, but the lack of compliance with insurance requirements poses risks to both guests and operators.
During the assembly, the PS members expressed their disappointment at the high percentage of non-compliant accommodations, urging local authorities to prioritize this issue.
