The renowned Madeira Embroidery is being highlighted at the Salão Imobiliário de Portugal in Lisbon, promoting its elegance and versatility in contemporary home decor.

The Madeira Embroidery, a symbol of cultural heritage and craftsmanship, is taking center stage at this year's Salão Imobiliário de Portugal (SIL), held from April 23 to 25 at the International Fair of Lisbon. The event, renowned for its focus on real estate, is showcasing the embroidery's potential in modern home decor.

Organized by the Instituto do Vinho, do Bordado e do Artesanato da Madeira (IVBAM) in collaboration with INVEST Madeira, the exhibition titled 'Decore com Bordado da Madeira' highlights the embroidery's application in bath, bed, and table linens, underscoring its versatility and elegance.

The initiative aims to integrate the traditional art into contemporary settings, featuring collaborations with local artisans and companies such as Vista Alegre, known for their decorative pieces. This interaction between tradition and modern design is a testament to Madeira's rich cultural tapestry.

Visitors at the fair can engage with live demonstrations by artisans such as Firmina Abreu, offering a hands-on experience of the intricate embroidery process. Additionally, pieces by Catarina Jesus, a renowned wicker artisan, are also on display, providing a broader perspective on Madeira's artisanal crafts.

This event not only promotes the Madeira Embroidery but also showcases other regional products, such as the famous Madeira wine, further enhancing the cultural and economic ties between tradition and commerce.
