The Madeira Regional Government has announced enhancements to the PRID, increasing financial support and simplifying access to aid the recovery of degraded properties.

The Regional Government of Madeira has introduced significant changes to the Programa de Recuperação de Imóveis Degradados (PRID), aimed at increasing financial support and broadening access to the program. This initiative is designed to aid the recovery and rehabilitation of degraded properties across the island, aligning with the current economic realities.

As per the latest changes published in the Jornal Oficial, the maximum financial support for small-scale recovery, rehabilitation, or adaptation projects has been increased from €20,000 to €35,000. This represents a 75% increase aimed at assisting more residents and property owners in restoring their homes.

For larger interventions, particularly those necessitated by extreme weather events, disasters, or fires, the support has been raised from €50,000 to €70,000. This enhancement, which marks a 40% increase, is contingent on proper justification of the need.

The updated regulations also include a revision of income thresholds, thereby enabling more families to qualify for the assistance provided by the PRID. This adjustment is in response to evolving economic conditions and aims to ensure that the program adequately meets the needs of Madeira's families.

Furthermore, the administrative process has been streamlined to reduce bureaucratic hurdles. The new procedures require less documentation and have been adjusted to accelerate the application process, making it more efficient and less cumbersome for applicants.

These modifications reflect the government's commitment to enhancing the living conditions of Madeira's residents by facilitating better access to necessary resources for property recovery and rehabilitation.
