The Autonomous Region of Madeira has taken a significant step towards improving public safety by implementing a new Regional Monitoring and Communication System for Risk, Special Alerts, and Public Warnings. This initiative, led by the Regional Civil Protection Service (SRPC), aims to enhance the island's readiness and response to potential disasters.
Established under the Regional Legislative Decree No. 12/2026/M, the new system marks a substantial upgrade from the previous alert system put in place in 2025.
