On July 7 and 8, the Madeira Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACIF) is hosting the concluding meeting of the European project Atlantic Innoblue Communities (ATLIC). This gathering of international partners aims to assess the results achieved and define the future impact and legacy of this initiative, focused on empowering youth in the Blue Economy.
The first day involves discussions on the project's main outcomes, evaluation of work packages, and sustainability of the ATLIC community. Participants also reflect on the project's impact on young participants, partner organizations, and regional blue entrepreneurship ecosystems.
In the evening, a networking dinner is scheduled in Câmara de Lobos, allowing international partners to experience one of Madeira's most iconic fishing villages and its local culture and cuisine.
The second day features a maritime technical visit along Madeira's south coast, highlighting the island's geological, volcanic, and marine heritage. This initiative combines science, education, and sustainable tourism, with geological interpretations by Professor João Batista, emphasizing the link between geology, marine biodiversity, and the Blue Economy.
Hosting this final meeting in Madeira underscores the region's role as a leader in innovation, entrepreneurship, and the Blue Economy. It also highlights ATLIC's contributions to developing new skills and enhancing the Blue Economy's value.
