Madeira Clubs Excel in CLUBE TOP Regional Finals

Three clubs from Madeira have advanced to the regional finals of the CLUBE TOP Awards, recognizing excellence in sports management.

In an impressive demonstration of sports management excellence, three clubs from the Região Autónoma da Madeira have qualified for the regional finals of the CLUBE TOP Awards 2026. This prestigious event, organized by the Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude in collaboration with the Direcção Regional de Desporto (DRD), aims to acknowledge and honor the best practices in sports club management.

The Clube Desportivo da Escola Francisco Franco has been shortlisted in the categories of Strategy and Finances, while the Club Sport Marítimo da Madeira is competing in the Communication category. These clubs will present and defend their projects on September 1st at 3 PM in the auditorium of the Colégio dos Jesuítas, Funchal.

The judging panel is comprised of esteemed figures such as the Director of Regional Sports, David Gomes, academic Élvio Rúbio Gouveia from the University of Madeira, and Rui Marote, a former official of the Madeira Football Association. Their task will be to evaluate the submissions and decide the regional winners.

The winning club will receive a monetary prize of 1,500 euros, a trophy, and the opportunity to represent Madeira at the national finals. The second and third place clubs will be awarded 1,000 and 750 euros, respectively. This competition does not only highlight the clubs' outstanding administrative practices but also enhances their potential for national recognition.

The CLUBE TOP Awards serve as a platform to showcase the dedication and innovative management practices implemented by sports club leaders and their teams, promoting both social value and sports development across the region.
