The funding aims to boost the island's appeal during these popular events, which attract both locals and tourists.
Budget Allocation and Purpose
According to the joint ordinance published in the Jornal Oficial da Região Autónoma da Madeira (JORAM), the budget will cover expenses related to the electrical connections, installations, maintenance, assembly, and disassembly of decorative lights. The initiative spans two festive seasons: 2026/2027 and 2027/2028.

The ordinance was collaboratively signed by Eduardo Jesus, the Secretary Regional of Tourism, Environment and Culture, and Duarte Freitas, the Secretary Regional of Finance. This collaboration underscores the importance of these events in promoting Madeira's cultural and touristic profile.
