Luxury Cruise Line 'Aman at Sea' Plans First Visit to Madeira in 2028

The island of Madeira is set to welcome a new luxury cruise line, 'Aman at Sea,' which plans its first arrival in 2028. This announcement was made during the 68th General Assembly of MedCruise, held in Palermo, Italy. The event marked the 30th anniversary of MedCruise and was attended by over 20 cruise companies and numerous port authorities from the Mediterranean and nearby Atlantic regions.

The Madeira Ports Administration, overseen by the Regional Secretariat of Economy, participated in this assembly to strengthen ties with existing clients and introduce the island to new cruise companies. Patricia Bairrada, the commercial director of APRAM, highlighted the positive feedback received from current cruise operators and the interest expressed by 'Aman at Sea' in exploring Madeira as a premium destination.

'Aman at Sea' operates in the premium cruise segment and is expected to add a unique allure to Madeira's tourism landscape. The cruise line's interest in Madeira aligns with the island's strategic efforts to diversify its tourism offerings and enhance its profile as a premier cruise destination.

MedCruise, founded in 1996, aims to promote the cruise industry and foster cooperation among its members. Madeira's participation since 2012 has been crucial in increasing its visibility within the cruise industry. The Cruise Atlantic Islands group, which includes Madeira, the Canary Islands, Azores, and Cape Verde, accounts for 11% of MedCruise's cruise movements.
