The ‘Kit Bebé’ initiative in Madeira has achieved remarkable success by supporting over 2,380 vaccinations within the first half of the current year. This program, launched by the Madeira Regional Government in 2019, is designed to bolster natality rates by providing financial assistance to newborns’ families.
Administered by the Instituto de Administração da Saúde, IP-RAM (IASAÚDE), the program allocates a financial aid of 600 euros via a card to each newborn residing in the region. This aid is intended for the purchase of health products, significantly easing the financial burden on families.
The initiative has already led to an investment exceeding 127,000 euros, directly reflecting the savings for Madeira's families. The funding of vaccinations, a critical component of child healthcare, highlights the program's commitment to enhancing public health.
