The JPP has called for clarification on persistent water supply disruptions affecting daily life in Caldeira, Câmara de Lobos.

The Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) party has issued a demand for immediate clarification from Águas e Resíduos da Madeira regarding the ongoing water supply problems in the Caminho do Convento da Caldeira area, located in Câmara de Lobos, Madeira. This issue has been a recurring problem, significantly impacting the daily lives of local residents.

Nuno Freitas, a representative of the JPP elected to the Assembleia de Freguesia of Câmara de Lobos, has raised concerns that these water shortages are not isolated incidents but rather a persistent issue that disrupts essential daily activities. He emphasized that without a reliable water supply, basic routines such as bathing, cooking, laundry, and maintaining hygiene are severely affected.

The JPP is urging the local water authority to address these problems promptly, as water is considered a fundamental necessity. The lack of water compromises the comfort and health of families living in the area, making it a pressing issue for both the residents and the municipal authorities.

Câmara de Lobos, a picturesque fishing village and a popular tourist destination on the island of Madeira, relies heavily on its infrastructure to support both local residents and visitors. The ongoing water supply issues not only inconvenience residents but could also deter tourists, impacting the local economy.

The response from Águas e Resíduos da Madeira is awaited, as residents and local officials look for solutions to restore reliable water service to the community.
