The JPP is urging Madeira's water authorities to address chronic water supply issues in Caldeira, Câmara de Lobos, impacting local residents' daily lives.

In a compelling demand for accountability, the Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP) political party has called on Águas e Resíduos da Madeira, the regional water and waste management authority, to provide explanations for the persistent water supply failures in Caldeira, Câmara de Lobos. This issue, which affects a key residential area, has become a significant concern for the community.

Nuno Freitas, a member of the Câmara de Lobos Parish Assembly, highlighted the gravity of the situation, stating, "We are not facing a one-time inconvenience but a recurring problem that directly impacts the daily lives of families." The lack of a reliable water supply disrupts essential household routines, such as bathing, cooking, laundry, and maintaining basic hygiene and comfort.

Located on the southern coast of Madeira, Câmara de Lobos is a picturesque town known for its historic charm and vibrant fishing culture. The Caminho do Convento da Caldeira, an essential area within this town, is at the heart of these water supply challenges.

The JPP's demand for transparency comes amid growing frustration among residents who have repeatedly faced these disruptions. Access to clean and consistent water is a fundamental necessity, crucial for both the health and well-being of the community.

The ongoing issues have prompted the JPP to seek immediate solutions and clear communication from the responsible authorities. This situation underscores the importance of addressing infrastructure challenges to ensure the quality of life for Madeira's residents and to maintain the island's reputation as a desirable tourist destination.
