Élvio Sousa, a prominent member of the JPP, participated in a meeting with António Manuel Lopes, the chairman of the Order of Physiotherapists. The meeting was held in Funchal and aimed at finding solutions to counter the government's decision which the JPP believes will negatively impact both practitioners and patients who rely on these essential healthcare services.
The government, led by the PSD/CDS coalition, has justified the restrictions as necessary for the rationalization of healthcare resources. However, the JPP's stance highlights concerns over access to necessary medical treatment and the potential influence of private sector interests in public healthcare decisions.
