João Silva, alongside co-driver Luís Rodrigues, claimed victory in the Rali de Santana, marking the second race of the 2026 Coral Madeira Rally Championship.

In a thrilling display of motorsport, João Silva, partnering with Luís Rodrigues, emerged victorious at the Rali de Santana, held on April 11, 2026. This event, a key fixture in the 2026 Coral Madeira Rally Championship, captivated both locals and tourists with its competitive spirit and challenging routes.

The rally commenced at 9:51 AM in Santana, with the second special stage (PEC) starting at Ilha/Coral. As the day progressed, participants navigated through various stages, including Faial, Arco São Jorge, and São Roque do Faial. Each stage tested the drivers' skills and endurance, making for an exhilarating spectacle.

After nine grueling stages, Silva and Rodrigues, driving a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, clinched the top spot with a total time of 57:33.6 minutes. They outpaced their closest rival, Miguel Nunes, by a margin of 32.6 seconds. Nunes, who drove a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, faced setbacks including a tire puncture during the Ilha 1 stage.

The competition saw Rui Jorge Fernandes secure the third position, completing the rally with a time of 58:45.3 minutes. The event highlighted the prowess of local drivers and showcased the rugged beauty of Madeira's terrain, drawing significant attention from the rally community.

The Rali de Santana's success underscores the island's growing reputation as a prime location for motorsport events, offering both challenging courses and breathtaking landscapes.
