ISAL Hosts 19th Blessing and Ribbon Burning Ceremony in Madeira

The Instituto Superior de Administração e Línguas (ISAL) is set to host its 19th annual Blessing and Ribbon Burning ceremony, a significant event for students graduating in Business Management and Tourism. This year, the ceremony is scheduled for June 20th and will be held at the Church of São João Evangelista, commonly referred to as the Church of the College, in Funchal, Madeira.
The event, organized by the ISAL Graduation Committee, will start at 1:30 PM. Graduating students, accompanied by their course mentors, Dr. Cláudia Afonso for Business Management and Dr. Pedro Nunes for Tourism, will participate in the traditional rituals of blessing and ribbon burning.
The ceremony will begin with a gathering at ISAL's premises at 12:45 PM, followed by a procession to the church. This procession will include not only the graduates and their mentors but also official representatives, faculty members, and the families and friends of the students. The religious service from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM will be led by Father Carlos Almada.
This annual celebration, known as 'Bênção e Queima das Fitas,' is a cherished tradition in Madeira, symbolizing the end of an academic chapter and the beginning of a professional journey. The event underscores the importance of education and community support.
ISAL's Graduation Committee has extended an invitation to the entire community to participate in this solemn occasion, celebrating the achievements of the students and supporting them as they embark on new paths.
