On August 16, 2026, a man in his 30s was assaulted by a couple on Rua do Pico das Romeiras in Santo António. The victim sustained a hematoma to his eye and a wound on his hand. In separate incidents on the same day, emergency services were also called to address motorcycle accidents. At 12:40 AM, a 36-year-old man was involved in a crash on Estrada dos Marmeleiros, suffering from back pain and facial injuries.
Earlier, on August 13, 2026, another motorcyclist lost control at a roundabout in Nazaré, resulting in a shoulder dislocation. The 54-year-old victim was also transported to the hospital.
