Jaime Moniz High School in Madeira has reported an impressive success rate in the national higher education admissions process. In the first phase, 89% of their candidates secured placements in various universities across Portugal. This achievement highlights the school's commitment to academic excellence and the dedication of its students.
Out of 366 students who applied, 72% were admitted to their first or second choice of courses, showcasing the high level of preparation and competitiveness among the candidates. The results were announced by the school's Executive Council, which expressed pride in the students' accomplishments.
Focus on Engineering and Health
The fields of engineering and health dominated the students' choices, with 52 students pursuing engineering disciplines. Notably, three students were admitted to the prestigious aerospace engineering programs at the Universities of Lisbon, Porto, and Évora. In the health sector, 37 students secured places, including 26 in medicine and 11 in nursing.
In addition to these fields, other areas such as Languages and Business Relations, Law, Biology, Biochemistry, and Economics also saw significant interest, with a notable number of students being placed in these courses.
