Funchal's European Mobility Week starts on Wednesday, 16 September, and runs until 22 September. The Funchal City Council initiative will offer a programme for different age groups and audiences.
The 2026 campaign theme is "Mobility for all, Justice between generations". It focuses on making travel options and urban spaces more accessible, safe and sustainable for people of different ages and needs.
Under the slogan "Combine and Move!", the campaign encourages people to reconsider their travel habits and try different forms of mobility. It promotes more sustainable alternatives and a more balanced use of urban space.
The week will include awareness initiatives on sustainable mobility and road safety, activities for children and young people, actions promoting sport and active mobility, and reflection and debate on the future of urban mobility in Funchal.
