Funchal Launches Applications for School Material Support
Madeira GuideFunchal opens applications for its educational support program, providing financial assistance for school materials to local students. Applications are open from July 6 to October 30, 2026.
The Municipality of Funchal is set to open applications for its annual educational support program aimed at assisting local students with school materials for the academic year 2026/2027. The program is specifically designed for students in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cycles of basic education who have been residing in Funchal for more than a year and are enrolled in the local schools.
Applications for this program will be accepted from July 6 to October 30, 2026. The support is provided through an Education Voucher, which is part of the Citizen's Card, and can be used at participating establishments for the purchase of educational materials.
For students who do not receive support from the Regional Government for school textbooks, the voucher can also be used for this purpose. This initiative complements existing government support schemes, providing additional aid to families.
In detail, for the 1st cycle, students receiving government support for textbooks will receive an Education Voucher worth 30 euros, while those not covered will receive 60 euros. For the 2nd and 3rd cycles, students under the Digital Manuals program receive a 30-euro voucher, and those outside the program receive between 50 and 100 euros, with lower amounts for those benefiting from School Social Action (ASE).
Applications and requests for the Citizen's Card must be made exclusively online via the platform https://cmfonline.funchal.pt/. The Education Voucher will remain valid until December 31, 2026.
This support reinforces our commitment to assist families and promote equal educational opportunities," stated Helena Leal, the councilor responsible for education.
