The operation involved a coordinated effort with six local firefighters utilizing two vehicles and support from a heavy vehicle team from Câmara de Lobos.

Earlier the same day, a separate fire broke out along Estrada Nova da Lombada in Ponta do Sol. Firefighters from Ribeira Brava and Ponta do Sol, supported by a heavy vehicle unit from Calheta, responded swiftly to contain the fire. Their quick action was essential in preventing the flames from spreading to nearby residential areas.
Traffic Incident in São Vicente
In addition to the fires, emergency services were called to an unrelated traffic accident on the Via Expresso in São Vicente. A collision between two light vehicles resulted in injuries to a woman in her fifties, who was treated for back pain and anxiety resulting from the airbag deployment. The patient was transported to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for further care.
