Fire Near Residential Area

In the afternoon, the Funchal Fire Department was deployed to a brush fire near a house on Rua da Choupana. Eight firefighters with two vehicles managed to control the situation swiftly, preventing any damage to the nearby property.

Airport Vicinity Blaze

Earlier that day, at the vereda do Seixo near Madeira's airport, another fire broke out. The Municipal Firefighters of Machico, comprising four personnel, were dispatched to handle the situation. Their quick response ensured that the fire was contained without affecting airport operations.

Workplace Accident in Cancela

Adding to the day's challenges, a workplace accident occurred in a warehouse in Cancela. A 47-year-old man sustained a head injury after being struck by a pallet. The Madeira Volunteer Firefighters provided immediate aid and transported the injured man to the hospital for further treatment.
