Elderly Woman Resuscitated After Cardiac Arrest
On July 4, 2026, at around 11:14 AM, emergency services were called to the Caminho do Terço area in Carmo, where an elderly woman, in her 80s, suffered a cardiac arrest. Thanks to the timely intervention by the EMIR and the Volunteer Firefighters of Câmara de Lobos, resuscitation efforts were successful, and the woman was transported alive to the Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.
Car Fire in Câmara de Lobos
Earlier on the same day, at approximately 8:32 AM, a car was completely destroyed by fire at the Parque Empresarial in Garachico. The Volunteer Firefighters of Câmara de Lobos were quick to respond, deploying seven personnel and three vehicles to control the blaze.
Motorcycle Accident on Via Rápida
On the evening of July 3, 2026, a young motorcyclist in his 20s was involved in an accident in the tunnel of Quinta Grande, on the Via Rápida heading towards Funchal. The rider, who suffered injuries and abrasions, was promptly attended to by the emergency services and taken to the Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for further treatment.
