According to Francisco Gomes, a Chega deputy, the helicopter was initially deployed for a medical emergency to transport a patient from Porto Santo to Madeira. Following this mission, the aircraft reportedly remained at Madeira Airport for the alleged purpose of transporting Rubina Leal. This claim has led to significant public interest and demands for clarification.
The inquiry was officially submitted to the Minister on August 19th, under the number 2472/XVII/1.ª. Chega has emphasized the need for urgent clarification, as the use of military resources for non-emergency purposes raises questions about policy and ethics. The government is expected to respond within 30 days, according to parliamentary procedures.
Details emerged suggesting that Leal arrived at the airport via a private entrance, utilizing a vehicle from 'Menzies', after participating in the religious festivities of Nossa Senhora do Monte.
