Community Mourns Loss of Cherished Residents in Madeira

The Madeira community has been struck by the loss of four cherished residents, whose lives were celebrated in heartfelt ceremonies attended by family, friends, and community members. These residents, Eulália de Jesus Beltrão, Maria Teresinha Ferraz, Júlia da Silva de Abreu, and Maria da Conceição Fernandes Abreu, have left a lasting impact on their communities.

Eulália de Jesus Beltrão was a long-time resident of Campanário, known for her kindness and community spirit. Her funeral was held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at the São Brás parish church, where a mass was celebrated before proceeding to the local cemetery.

Maria Teresinha Ferraz, who lived in Garachico, Câmara de Lobos, passed away on April 18, 2026. Her funeral took place at the Câmara de Lobos cemetery, where family and friends gathered to pay their respects. A seventh-day mass is scheduled at the parish of Nossa Senhora Bom Sucesso.

Júlia da Silva de Abreu, a beloved figure from Rua Comandante Camacho de Freitas, Campanário, was remembered at a service at the parish church of Nossa Senhora do Carmo. Her funeral was held on April 18, 2026, with a mass and burial following at the São Martinho cemetery.

Maria da Conceição Fernandes Abreu's life was celebrated on April 18, 2026, with a service at the Câmara de Lobos cemetery. Her family expressed gratitude for the compassionate care provided by the staff at the Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça and the Casa São José.
