Clube Naval do Funchal secured a historic third place in the National Sea Canoeing Championship 2026, marking a significant achievement for the Madeira-based club.

The Clube Naval do Funchal (CNF) celebrated a remarkable success by finishing third in the overall standings of the 2026 National Sea Canoeing Championship. This notable achievement places the club among the top contenders in a competition that included 33 clubs from across Portugal.

The championship concluded with the final stage held on July 17 and 18 in Vila Nova de Milfontes, where CNF secured its podium position. This accomplishment is particularly significant for Madeira, highlighting the island's growing prominence in national water sports.

In addition to this success, CNF also participated in the National Sea Hopes Championship, where it achieved a commendable fourth place. The team accumulated a total of 1,944 points over three stages, showcasing the young athletes' potential and the club's dedication to nurturing future talent.
