Classic Cars Event 'Clássicos na Magnólia' Returns to Madeira with a 60s Flair

This weekend, on July 25th and 26th, the picturesque gardens of Quinta Magnólia in Madeira will host the 7th edition of the 'Clássicos na Magnólia' event. Organized by the Clube de Automóveis Clássicos da Madeira (CACM) and supported by the Regional Secretariat for Tourism, Environment, and Culture, this highly anticipated event offers a captivating journey back to the 1960s, showcasing the era's automotive innovations.

Curated by Martim Veloza, the event highlights the transformative period in the automotive industry during the early 1960s, marked by revolutionary design concepts and technical innovations. This year's exhibition features 38 classic cars and 9 motorbikes from iconic brands such as Alfa Romeo, Austin, Cadillac, Fiat, Ford, Jaguar, and Mercedes-Benz, among others.

A centerpiece of this year's show is the Facel Vega HK500, a luxurious French model from 1960, known for its blend of elegance and performance, rivaling contemporaries like the Mercedes-Benz 300SL and Ferrari 250 GT. The car is a special addition from collector Eduardo Bonal.

Beyond the impressive vehicle display, 'Clássicos na Magnólia' also includes 'Conversas à Volta dos Clássicos' (Conversations Around Classics), musical performances, and artistic acts by Paradise Circus, all reflecting the vibrant spirit of the 60s. The event also features Urban Sketchers Madeira, who will capture the vehicles in their artistic renditions, connecting art with automotive heritage.
