The 39th Festa da Maçã will bring apple traditions, food, culture and entertainment to Camacha, with Luís Trigacheiro headlining on 3 October.

Camacha will host the Festa da Maçã from 1 to 4 October. The 39th edition will open on 1 October at Quinta da Moscadinha with the session 'A Macieira e o Clima da Montanha', which focuses on apple production and its derivatives.

The session will include specialists and entry is free, subject to room capacity. The event is organised by the Junta de Freguesia da Camacha in partnership with the Grupo de Folclore do Rochão.

Festivities at Largo Conselheiro Aires de Ornelas begin on Friday, 2 October, at 20:00 with the solemn opening session. Gaudium will perform afterwards, followed later by a DJ.

Saturday's programme includes the traditional Cortejo da Maçã, involving folklore groups, schools and other parish institutions. The Orquestra de Bandolins da Casa do Povo da Camacha and Cordophonia will perform before Luís Trigacheiro, the headline act, takes the stage at Largo Conselheiro Aires de Ornelas on 3 October; DJ Sil will follow.

The Tenda da Pisa da Maçã, run with the collaboration of the Grupo Romarias Antigas do Rochão, will show old apple-processing techniques, including pressing and cider production, during the three days of festivities. Visitors will also be able to taste cider and must made on site. The programme includes an apple showcooking session and sales spaces for products and delicacies associated with the fruit.

Local and regional artists will provide entertainment on Sunday, 4 October, with Márcio Amaro from Camacha closing the event. Organisers say they aim to retain the festival's traditional character while valuing producers, local products and the parish's cultural identity.
