Cáritas Diocesana do Funchal has launched a food collection campaign across Pingo Doce stores in Madeira and Porto Santo, running from June 29 to July 5, 2026.

Cáritas Diocesana do Funchal has initiated its annual "Campanha Vale de Recolha de Alimentos" to support families and individuals in vulnerable situations. This charitable endeavor commenced on June 29 and will continue until July 5, 2026, encompassing all Pingo Doce outlets across Madeira and Porto Santo.

The campaign operates under the motto "A great gesture for a great cause." Customers are encouraged to participate by purchasing food vouchers available at checkout counters. These vouchers represent essential food items such as rice, milk, pasta, sausages, and tuna, which will be donated to Cáritas for distribution to those in need.

This initiative is crucial for Cáritas' ongoing social intervention efforts, aiming to fortify the support provided to the community. The organization appeals to the public's solidarity to make this campaign a success, highlighting the significant impact such contributions can have on the lives of those experiencing hardship.

Pingo Doce, one of the prominent supermarket chains in the region, collaborates annually with Cáritas to facilitate such initiatives, showcasing the community's commitment to addressing local social challenges. This year's campaign, like others before it, is expected to draw substantial support from both locals and tourists visiting the picturesque islands.
