The Instituto do Vinho, do Bordado e do Artesanato da Madeira (IVBAM) is set to host the second edition of the Arts & Crafts Marathon on September 19, 2026. This event, dedicated to the celebration of Madeira's rich artisanal heritage, will run from 10 AM to 6 PM in the courtyard of IVBAM's headquarters on Rua 5 de Outubro.
The event, first launched in 2025, returns with an informal and open-air format, promising a vibrant day filled with activities designed to engage both residents and tourists. Visitors can look forward to hands-on workshops, live craftsmanship demonstrations, music, and a marketplace showcasing a variety of artisanal products.
A Day of Craftsmanship and Culture
Throughout the day, participants will have the chance to engage directly with artisans, learning about traditional techniques and processes. This interactive experience aims to bridge the gap between the public and the artisans, offering insights into the skills and dedication involved in crafting each unique piece.
