ADN-Madeira has raised concerns about the absence of public lighting in Vereda da Longueira, Caniço, posing safety risks for residents and visitors.

ADN-Madeira, a political party on Madeira Island, has brought attention to the ongoing issue of inadequate street lighting in Vereda da Longueira, located in the Assomada area of Caniço, Santa Cruz. The party's supporter, Raquel Paixão, initiated the complaint, highlighting that this problem has persisted for several years without a solution from the responsible authorities.

The lack of lighting is particularly problematic near the 'Academia da Fantasia' daycare center, a location also surrounded by numerous semi-detached houses. This deficiency not only affects the daily lives of the residents but also poses significant safety risks, especially during the night.

Residents and local authorities are concerned about the potential dangers that the darkened streets present, not only in terms of personal safety but also regarding the increased risk of accidents. The absence of adequate lighting makes it challenging for both pedestrians and drivers to navigate the area safely.

This issue's persistence raises questions about the efficacy of local governance in addressing infrastructure problems that directly impact community safety and quality of life. ADN-Madeira's public denunciation aims to urge the authorities to implement a viable solution promptly.
