The 101st reunion of Madeira veterans will be held on September 6th at the Church of Rochão, Santa Cruz, to honor those who served in the Overseas War and have since passed away.

The Agrupamento Mensal dos Militares Madeirenses que Serviram no Ultramar (AMMMSU) is set to host its 101st reunion on September 6th at the Church of Rochão, located in Santa Cruz, Madeira. This event is a significant gathering for former military personnel who served in the Overseas War, providing them an opportunity to honor their fallen comrades.

The reunion will commence at 11:00 AM with a mass, followed by a ceremony at 11:45 AM dedicated to paying tribute to the Madeira veterans who lost their lives during the Overseas War and those who have died since returning home. The ceremony will include a blessing and the laying of a wreath.

This annual event serves as both a commemoration and a call for greater recognition of the sacrifices made by these veterans. Participants also emphasize the importance of benefits provided through veteran cards, which offer various advantages and are a token of appreciation for their service.

The significance of this reunion extends beyond remembrance; it is a reminder of the enduring bond among those who served and the shared experiences that continue to unite them. Such events play a crucial role in preserving the legacy and history of Madeira's involvement in the Overseas War.
