Funchal's municipal theatre slots three or four properly staged children's titles into each six-month season, baby theatre included, at five to ten euros a seat.
It is a general-programme theatre, not a children's venue, so a family date depends entirely on the calendar. Runs are short and some titles play across two weeks with weekday school matinees. Everything is in Portuguese; the baby and visual pieces cross the language barrier and the spoken ones do not.
Worth knowing: Every child needs their own numbered seat - an infant on a lap is not allowed, and that is the theatre's own rule. Tickets bought at the box office are not exchanged or refunded, and the season dates exist only inside a PDF on the Agenda page: the website itself never lists them.

Prices
Children's titles this season run 5 € to 10 €; most adult shows are 10-11 €. School groups pay 4 € on some titles. Other discounts are 'consulte a bilheteira'. Box office Tuesday to Saturday 13:30-20:30, or through Ticketline.

Programmed September to February and March to July, with nothing in August. The three children's titles in the September 2026 - February 2027 agenda are: 'Capuchinho, Teatro para Bebés' on 3 October 2026 at 15:00 and 19:00, rated M/3, 5 €; 'O Rei vai Nu' by ContigoTeatro from 28 October to 6 November 2026, rated M/6, 10 €; and 'Alice no país do... Teatro' by Associação GATO from 26 November to 5 December 2026, rated M/3, 10 €.
