Funchal 3D Fun Art Museum
Funchal
- Indoors
- From 4
- Children from 8.1 €
- Booking advised
Over forty painted optical-illusion scenarios, including an upside-down room, built to be photographed with a child standing inside them.
The whole thing only works through a lens: the rooms are backdrops, and the visit lasts exactly as long as the family's appetite for taking pictures of each other, which is usually about an hour. It rescues a wet afternoon in Funchal rather than earning a day. It is a franchise, so check the Funchal site rather than the chain's.
Worth knowing: Charge the phone first - a flat battery here means paying for a museum you cannot use. The museum says booking is needed on Fridays, weekends, public holidays and in the school holidays, which is precisely when a family would turn up.

Prices
The museum's own price page renders its tickets as images with no readable figures, so the only legible tariff is a reseller's: adult from 13 years 11 €, reduced to 9.90 €, and child 5-12 9 €, reduced to 8.10 €. The counter price is unconfirmed.
Getting there
Prices and opening times change without notice, and on this island they change often. Everything here carries the date it was checked in our research notes; if a place has moved or closed, tell us and we will fix it.
