Residents of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos will face water supply interruptions on March 30 due to essential network upgrades aimed at reducing water loss.

The residents of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, a parish located in Madeira's Câmara de Lobos municipality, are set to experience temporary water supply interruptions. This is part of an ongoing effort by Águas e Resíduos da Madeira (ARM) to upgrade the water distribution network and reduce water loss.

According to ARM, the planned interruptions will occur on March 30, 2026, between 9:30 AM and 12:00 PM. The affected areas include the zones of Garachico and Nogueira. ARM assures the public that all efforts will be made to minimize inconvenience.

These works are crucial for enhancing the efficiency of the water supply system, which is vital for both residents and the numerous tourists visiting Madeira. The region's reliance on a robust water infrastructure is essential, given its popularity as a tourist destination.

In a related development, the Câmara Municipal de Câmara de Lobos is monitoring a recent landslide in Curral das Freiras. The landslide deposited debris into the Ribeira dos Socorridos riverbed, prompting the activation of local civil protection services. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries, and measures are in place to ensure public safety.

We urge residents to plan accordingly and appreciate their understanding as we work to improve our water distribution systems.
