The public company Águas e Resíduos da Madeira (ARM) has concluded its fourth revision of the Enterprise Agreement, marking significant updates to the salaries and meal allowances of its employees. This agreement, reached with the Sindicato dos Trabalhadores da Administração Pública (SINTAP) and the Sindicato dos Trabalhadores da Função Pública da Região Autónoma da Madeira (STFP-RAM), aims to enhance employee remuneration and working conditions.
Effective from January 1, 2026, the revised salary structure will introduce retroactive pay increases, affecting a substantial portion of ARM's workforce. Specifically, salary levels 1 through 11 will see a minimum increase of 30 euros, translating to an average unitary increase of 65.32 euros, or approximately 6.06%. This change will benefit 705 employees, accounting for about 77% of the company's total personnel.
For higher salary levels, namely those between 12 and 33, the average salary increase will be about 3.08%, equating to an increment of 56.58 euros. Meanwhile, levels 34 to 39 will experience a 2.15% increase. These adjustments reflect ARM's commitment to improving financial conditions while maintaining the financial sustainability of the company.
In addition to salary updates, the agreement includes a gradual increase in the meal allowance, which will rise to 7.50 euros in 2026 and continue to increase until reaching 9 euros by 2029. Such measures indicate a long-term strategy to enhance employee benefits progressively.
The modifications also extend to the calculation of the "abono para falhas," a compensation for work discrepancies, which will shift from a monthly to a daily calculation. Currently set at 88.91 euros monthly, it will now be calculated at 4.40 euros per day worked, based on attendance records.
These updates represent ARM's dedication to reinforcing professional development and workplace conditions for its employees, ensuring both enhanced job satisfaction and operational efficiency.
