A groundbreaking AI education project, TutorIA, is being tested by 60 students at Ponta do Sol's secondary school, marking a significant step towards integrating technology in education. This initiative is part of Madeira's vision for 'classrooms of the future'.

In a significant stride towards modernizing education, the Escola Básica e Secundária da Ponta do Sol has launched a pilot project named TutorIA. This innovative program integrates artificial intelligence in teaching, providing virtual tutoring to enhance students' learning experiences.

The project was officially unveiled during a visit by Miguel Albuquerque, the President of the Regional Government, who expressed support for the initiative. Approximately 60 students from the 10th grade are currently utilizing this AI-powered tutor, which is designed to assist with subjects like Portuguese, mathematics, and philosophy.

TutorIA operates as a chatbot, tailored to answer curriculum-based questions. This pioneering technology aims to support educators and students by supplementing traditional teaching methods with interactive AI solutions.

The integration of TutorIA is part of the broader 'classrooms of the future' initiative, a reform aimed at incorporating advanced technologies into educational settings. This project is also being tested in another school in Santa Cruz, highlighting Madeira's commitment to educational innovation.

The pilot program not only emphasizes the importance of technology in education but also reflects a proactive approach to preparing students for a tech-driven world. Such initiatives are crucial for providing students with the skills needed in the modern workforce.
