Motorcycle Accident in Câmara de Lobos
On April 30, 2026, a 21-year-old motorcyclist was involved in a collision with a car on Estrada João Gonçalves Zarco in Câmara de Lobos. The young man sustained minor injuries and was quickly attended to by the Câmara de Lobos Volunteer Firefighters. He was transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for further evaluation and care.
Fall Incident in Funchal
Earlier the same day, a septuagenarian fell from a height of two meters in the gardens of Bairro da Ajuda, Funchal. The accident resulted in a clavicle trauma and a head wound. The Madeira Volunteer Firefighters immobilized him before transferring him to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
Electrical Fire in Caminho das Voltas
On April 29, 2026, an electrical fire broke out in cables along Caminho das Voltas, Funchal, near a local church. Five firefighters from the Madeira Volunteer Fire Department responded with a heavy-duty vehicle to contain the blaze. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
Cardiorespiratory Arrest in Funchal
A cardiorespiratory arrest was reported on April 28, 2026, in Travessa dos Reis, Funchal. Emergency teams, including EMIR and the Madeira Volunteer Firefighters, successfully resuscitated the individual who was then taken to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for further treatment.
