Elderly Woman Injured in Bus Station Fall

In Machico, an elderly woman in her 80s suffered injuries due to a fall at a local bus station. The Municipal Firefighters of Machico were quick to respond, providing immediate care at the scene before transporting her to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça. Prior to her hospital admission, she was evaluated at Machico's Health Center, where she complained of leg pain.

German Tourist Rescued After Levada Fall

Elsewhere, the Machico emergency services were also called to assist a 60-year-old German tourist who fell while hiking along the Levada do Castelejo in Porto da Cruz. The tourist was located five minutes from the road, complaining of leg pain, before being safely rescued and taken for medical evaluation.

Motorcyclist Injured Due to Oil Spill

Earlier in the day, at approximately 5:30 AM, a motorcyclist was injured on the Estrada Monumental in Funchal. The 32-year-old man lost control of his motorcycle due to an oil spill on the road, resulting in shoulder injuries. The Funchal Fire Brigade provided immediate assistance and transported him to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for further treatment.

These incidents highlight the importance of safety on Madeira's roads and hiking trails, emphasizing the need for vigilance among both residents and tourists.
