The Funchal Fire Department was called to Rua Dr. Pita following a collision between a car and a motorcycle. The accident resulted in a young man, aged 28, being hit and sustaining abrasions on his knee and elbow. He was subsequently taken to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for treatment.
In another incident, a 28-year-old woman was injured in a car accident on Estrada da Eira do Serrado. While seated in the back seat, she suffered a head injury after hitting the front seat during the collision. Emergency services transported her to the same hospital for medical care.
Landslide Closes Regional Road
Earlier in the day, a large landslide occurred on the regional road between Portela and Porto da Cruz. The road closure has caused significant travel disruptions, with the Machico Municipal Fire Department on site to manage the situation. Motorcyclist Accident Near Amparo Chapel
A separate motorcycle accident occurred near the Amparo Chapel, involving a 39-year-old Venezuelan food delivery rider. He sustained a wrist injury and was also taken to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
