Emergency services in Madeira were kept busy with multiple incidents including road accidents and a fire scare over the past few days.

In recent days, Madeira has witnessed a flurry of emergency incidents that have kept the local rescue teams on high alert. From road accidents to a fire scare, emergency services have been actively responding to ensure public safety.

Road Accidents Across the Island

On March 13, a significant accident occurred on the via rápida near Viveiros. A 55-year-old man suffered cervical and spinal injuries after a collision between two cars. He was promptly transported to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça by the Bombeiros Voluntários Madeirense.

In another incident on March 14, a 36-year-old motorcyclist was injured in Funchal's Rua da Quinta do Leme following a collision with a car. The rider sustained injuries to the rib cage and leg and was also taken to the hospital for further treatment.

An additional motorcycle accident happened in Santa Cruz on the same day, involving a 43-year-old man who was injured in the limbs after a car collided with his motorcycle on Estrada Santo António da Serra.

Fire Scare in Funchal

On March 14, the Bombeiros Sapadores do Funchal responded to a fire scare in an apartment at Bairro do Hospital. Fortunately, the situation was quickly contained as it was caused by a forgotten pan on the stove, preventing any serious damage.
